APOD 2.8

this weeks picture shows a full sky of Auroras! in this unique picture we can see that the skies over Norway are filled to the brim early this year whit Auroras that lie anywhere from 60-1000 Km in the atmosphere. this light show is produced when charged electrons and protons are ejected form our sun and then line up with the magnetic lines formed by our earth's magnetosphere. these particles follow the magnetic lines down to one of earths two magnetic poles and create this beautiful light show!
