APOD 2.7

this week's picture features the center of our galaxy getting ready to gorge its self on a floating nebula that is just getting to close. the gas cloud will be stretched out towards the black hole as it is super heated and eventually eaten as it falls over the event horizon. in this artist rendition, stars that that are orbiting the black hole have tracks of blue while the poor nebula, or what is predicted to be left of it, is on the red track. Although it is only theory as to what will happen to the gas, it is certain that noting will be seen of the gas that is eaten ever again.
