Today's blog entry is about a video of the ISS orbiting earth. In this video things like cities become mere shining dots on the surface of the earth while lighting and can be seen striking down on the earth below. Oceans and continents seem to be equal in size but not in depth, the oceans seeming like they have no bottom. We are also treated to seeing the auroras from above, appearing to be moving like strands in the breeze. We can also observe on top of the auroras a band of red that lightly dances on top of the bright green. The final notable thing in this video is the view of the atmosphere, almost always present in the video as the band on the horizon that lights up slowly as the ISS approaches day light.
